This part-time position is responsible for all inbound and outbound shipments in the Ohio office and is responsible for the accurate pick/pack of product orders from OHP inventory. This position is also responsible for the general order and maintenance of the west shop space including the loading dock area as well as the product cage and samples area. Additionally, the specialist has periodic operational tasks assigned to help the overall maintenance and operations of our warehouse.
Manages all inbound and outbound shipments for VLS Ohio including product, service, project, and rental (via common carrier or UPS/FedEx)
Prepares all shipments for pickup including carefully boxing/packaging or preparing shipments on skids
Prepares bills of lading or other shipping documents as required by the carrier/VLS.
Distributes inbound shipments/freight to the appropriate department
Coordinates the west building-dock area and is responsible for all deliveries being delivered or picked up
Accurately picks, packages, and accounts for product shipments
Manages the inventory in the Ohio Product area
Supports customer returns including all paperwork, SAGE entry, etc.
Ensures that the shipping area (west warehouse), product cage, loading dock, and other related spaces are clean and organized daily
Supports rental to coordinate all sub-rental shipments as needed via common carrier or UPS/FedEx
Manages the Ohio demo equipment and coordinates with other offices on the transfer of sample materials including in/out from manufacturers
Orders and maintains an inventory of shipping/packing supplies and shops to ensure we are getting the best price on these items (company-wide)
Supports the general shop operations to ensure a highly productive workplace
Takes out recycling weekly
Empties trash as needed
Sweeps floor area in the west shop/dock area
Ensures that the fork truck is plugged in as needed (per rental requirement)
Skid storage area is clean and bad skids or overflow are removed to outside the building
Must be a self-starter, able to identify and prioritize important goals and work independently, showing initiative to ask questions and reach out to fellow team members for guidance, when needed.
Able to work in a team-oriented environment, work well in a team environment, and help support overall company operations.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Able to drive a standard fork truck (VLS to provide training/certification)
This position is designed to be a part-time position arriving at 12:00 pm and leaving at 5:00 pm. Support will be provided to receive any shipping needs that occur outside of this timeframe.
